Care Comfort and Hope - Stories from Wisconsin Hospitals

Every day, someone stops in at a free screening sponsored by a Wisconsin hospital and finds the help they need in treating and often living with a disease they did not know they had. And every day, Wisconsin hospitals are sponsoring health programs or providing care regardless of a patient’s ability to pay as they help move Wisconsin toward a healthier future.

Since its inception, the WHA community benefit report has been largely organized around the 11 priorities contained in the Wisconsin State Health Plan. WHA annually surveys hospitals and gathers data related to community benefits, but hospitals also share "stories" that provide a more personal perspective on the importance of these services in the community. Those stories are featured within the WHA newsletter, The Valued Voice. In each WHA newsletter one of the 11 health priorities contained in the State Health Plan is featured. Stories are run that are submitted by hospitals related to that priority.
